Item reviewed: Duluth Trading Co. Buck Naked Boxer Brief
About the product: No sweat. No stink. No pinch. That’s how the Duluth Trading Co. Buck Naked Boxer Brief is billed. Designed with a diamond-knit performance nylon fabric (a 97% nylon, 3% spandex blend, to be precise) that’s stretchy and dries quickly and has an anti-microbial finish to combat sweat.
The waistband on the Buck Naked Boxer is an inch-and-a-half thick and is brushed on the inside to lay soft against the skin. The rise is on the higher size, providing full coverage, and the pouch is flat-front with a closer fit. The back of the Buck Naked Boxer has an extra panel for increased flexibility. We’d describe the overall style as masculine and rugged.
What we like: We won’t lie. We saw these boxer briefs advertised a bunch on TV before we tried them out, and we weren’t sure they were for us. We were pleasantly surprised when we tried the Buck Naked Boxer out.
Though the fabric feels a bit rough at first touch, it’s actually quite comfortable. It seems to keep out sweat pretty well, and it doesn’t ride up. We also really liked that there was a printed label instead of a pesky, scratchy tag.
What we don’t like: We won’t say we didn’t like the look of this pair, but we just found it ok/average, and that’s to be expected, in our opinion. This pair is much more about substance and function than it is about style.
We also didn’t find that this pair offered a lot of support, but we did try a size up from what we normally take, so if you try the Buck Naked Boxer, definitely keep in mind they’re true to size.
When we’d wear them: When outside, working hard.
Who we’d recommend them to: Guys who work outside a lot, or have jobs that involve a lot of physical work.
In three words: Rugged. Surprisingly. Comfortable.
