White doesn’t necessarily come to mind when thinking of colors for sexy underwear. Why would it? It’s pretty standard, and some men still think of white underwear as “tighty whities,” regardless of design or style. But this photo series proves those men wrong. One underwear style that’s sexy no matter how you cut it, is the jockstrap. Even in white, a jockstrap is red hot and worthy of placement on the sexier side of your underwear drawer.
Jockstraps may have gotten their start in locker rooms by serving an athletic purpose, but for most men now, jockstraps are an underwear style that’s synonymous with sex appeal. We like to refer to narrow briefs as revealing, but jockstraps are more true to the word. They’re built with only the bare necessities. You have a waistband, a pouch and rear straps to keep that pouch in place. From there it’s all about design – to either tone down or play up the sexy cut.
White jockstraps strike a different note than black or red jockstraps. Where black and red are most men’s go-to colors for sexy pairs of underwear, white is typically a go-to for casual pairs. So when you combine the casual look of white with the steamy silhouette of a jock, you get a pair that seems unaware of just how sexy it is. Whether you realize it or not, white is commonly seen as a color of innocence. And innocent is something jockstraps definitely are not.
Jockstraps that are entirely white have a calmer attitude about them. It’s these pairs that attempt to tone down the erotic jockstrap style, some of them even looking a little serene. Some designs, though, cancel out that angelic quality by constructing the pouch out of mesh. With that, your rear is exposed for viewing pleasure, and your package is teased with a not-quite-sheer material.
Other white jockstraps are designed with multiple contrasting colors, leaving the pouch as the only white portion. These, of course, pull all of the attention to your junk (assuming you’re facing forward). This kind of color blocking borrows from color placement more common in performance underwear – again, something else that takes us back to the jock’s athletic origins. But as a few of the featured pairs in our photo series show, this isn’t always the case.
Black and metallic waistbands give white jockstraps a fancier spin. A black and white contrast also looks a little classier, maybe because it winks at formalwear. But there’s nothing formal about black and white jockstraps. In the world of jockstraps, these are simply the more elegant players on an erotic field. Where others are casual or sporty, these are on the dressier side of being undressed.
