Arriving just in time with a sneak peek of its spring-summer 2014 line, aussieBum returns with a bubblegum explosion of saturated pastel and neon hues like the durable and lightweight 100% nylon “WJK Loose 2.5” collection. Hit the beach in these quick-drying speedos, designed with a loose fit and snug wider waist finish. Sexy but regal, the peppermint-esque red-on-white WJKLoose Broome makes quite an impression. ($35.73)
Bringing back the original “Classic,” the 65% polyester/ 35% cotton blend undies made in Australia ($14.60), aussieBum also added new features for durability and comfort. Among the new design featured is a larger, breathable but snug pouch, a seamless interior and a newly added vintage waistband, available in a variety of colors like red, sky blue, navy, ocean, army, charcoal and natural.
If the tides are high, surfs up in the tricolor “Wave,” a double-lined premium Italian fabric with hipster-cut and a durable, white elastic waistband for support and comfort. Available in three colors, enjoy red-and-tangerine ‘Tequila Sunrise,’ blue-on-baby-blue ‘Blue Lagoon’ and the lime-on-hunter ‘Mojito.’
But perhaps the most exhilarating line this season is the “Birdcage,” a vibrant Day-Glo nylon of exotic tropical colors and designs inspired by the wildlife of Oceania, the savannas of Africa, the paradise wilds of the Amazon, the oasis of the Caribbean and the nirvana in India’s forests ($32.48). Toucans, flamingos, parrots, zebras and leopards come alive in psychedelic color. For the tamer, there’s the Maverick line ($32.48), which features camouflage and floral silhouettes with a nice contour; the tall-grass induced ‘Palm’ ($32.48); or, the Hawaii Five-O homage ‘Five O’ which tips its hat to the country’s floral atmosphere ($32.48).
If you aren’t looking for something to accentuate your package, accentuate your shoulders with the sturdy, soft-cotton knitted ‘Classic Singlet,’ available in white, black, grey and three natural colors ($16.22). There’s also ‘Drill-IT,’ the original jean short developed with reinforced stress points, heavyweight stitching for a definitive contour and a custom stone wash to give the pair an edge ($60.94). There’s something for everybody.
