In a recent photo shoot, photographer Lorenzo Marcucci made a special tribute to fashion stylist and creator of the fashion house Buffalo, Ray Petri. The photo shoot, entitled “MURDER! BUFFALO. A TRIBUTE,’ plays off of Petri’s more abstract presence in trendy mens’ wear, with the models in their underwear and other off-beat fashion choices. It’s so hipster, we had to draft this article on a typewriter.
Anyways, Ray Petri, in case you didn’t know, rose to popularity during the punk wave of the early 80’s in England and created a new aesthetic. Petri filled his photo shoots with teenagers, and avoided the stereotypical “buff blonde model” look. At the time, Ray Petri’s breakthrough in punk sex appeal and a new bad boy look came about in suits, kilts and other outfits that fell far outside the traditional culture of England at the time.
In this photo shoot, Lorenzo Marcucci does some great work by capturing Petri’s exact photographic “vibe” and feel, but totally plays off the “hipster” fashion choices of today’s world. Plus, it doesn’t hurt that there’s some cool underwear in there as well.
