GO Green Fit: Deadlifts and Front Squats

For this Instagram video, Go Green is back to demonstrating deadlifts and front squats. They are classic crossfit lifts that focus on strength through the lower back and quads. He goes for a total of eight sets, each one consisting of 10 deadlifts and five front squats. He lifts a whopping 185 libs., and with the correct form, works about 10 muscles in two exercises.

Deadlifts are a good starting point for lifting, whether they are the first heavy lift of your gym session, or ever. The key is all in your hips. Using your hip flexors requires good posture, and if your core is extended correctly, you should feel the most strain in your lower back. On the other hand, it is hard to mess up a front squat, and very easy to feel their burn in your quadriceps.
