GO Green Fit: EMOM

Our Instagram trainer is back with this workout routine, another intense one that will test your strength and overall fitness. The entire routine combines four exercises. The routine starts with a set of 5 burpees followed by 2 deadlifts. The second half moves on to 2 hang power cleans and 2 push jerks. It doesn’t sound like much, because the big numbers are all on the weights, not the reps. Our trainer, for instance, does the deadlifts with 155 to 185 lbs. But the real kicker is that this routine is done EMOM. These sets are done every minute on the minute, for 15 minutes total.

Overall, this routine works your entire body. And with EMOM routines, you really test everything at once — your form, cardio, and strength. EMOM routines are a great wait to get into crossfit. Doing EMOM workouts with light levels of weight are sometimes used as warm-ups. Depending on what exercises you do, you can think of it like interval training with weight.
