The long wait is over. The David Beckham underwear video by Guy Ritchie is finally here, initiating what is sure to be one of the biggest underwear conversations of the year. This morning at 3:00am eastern time, the newest campaign video for David Beckham Bodywear for H&M was released. The highly anticipated video was directed by Guy Ritchie, the acclaimed filmmaker behind the new Sherlock Holmes movies. Check out the video below, then read more about the campaign after the jump.
David Beckham had been dropping hints about the video by giving us teaser clips and photos in the days leading up to this highly publicized release. The soccer star, who recently joined Paris Saint-Germain, has become arguably the most visible men’s underwear model in history. He showed off his own line of H&M underwear in a Super Bowl ad that got people talking a whole year before Matthew Terry started dropping jaws (at least at the rate he did this year). Now, however, in a video produced a la short film, Beckham proves he’s still got it. In this video, he runs through the Hollywood hills chasing a car that left his driveway with his robe in tow–caught in a closed door. He runs threw yards, jumps over security dogs, swims through pools, and of course, gives up his chase just in time for a bus full of tourists who simultaneously snap his photo as he adjusts his underwear.
What do you think about the video? Does it live up the extraordinary hype? Will it be overshadowed by the Calvin Klein Super Bowl ad staring Matthew Terry?
Check out the teaser images below and let us know what you think in the comments.
