On his recent trip to NYC, Colby Melvin made quite the stir. For an exclusive New York City photo shoot for The Underwear Expert, Colby rolled around with drag personality Rhea Litré exposing his underwear-clad self to unsuspecting tourists and locals alike. He halted traffic (literally) in Times Square and mounted one of the New York Public Library lions. He jammed a hot dog down his throat in Central Park and then made a scene at the Bethesda fountain. All in a day’s work for an underwear model, but a spectacle indeed for those that witnessed his trouncing around the city. Humans of New York even caught a glimpse of the model and Litré in Washington Square Park; they captioned the photo, which has since received nearly 10,000 likes, “There was some 1 AM shit going down at 1 PM today.” Yeah, just about!
We had fun following Colby around to catch every single second of his and Litré’s shenanigans. Of his experience running around the city with Rhea Litré and the Andrew Christian underwear model, Aydin Arjomand, photographer for The Underwear Expert, said “Colby has a lot of energy on his own but hanging with Rhea took it to another level, I just had to keep up.” He continued, “I think it was really great for him that he got to sight see and do some fun underwear modeling at the same time.”
Rhea told us that being Colby’s accessory was a dream come true. “What’s not to like about being around cute, sweet and awesome?” Valid point! Of the photo shoot, Colby told us his favorite part of his New York trip was standing in the middle of Times Square in his undies. “Definitely memorable,” he said. And on what New York’s got that L.A. doesn’t? “Sleeves,” the California-based model said.
In the photos, Colby wears Andrew Christian’s newest style, the Spree Brief ($18.93), the Cool Flex Brief with Show-It Technology ($22.43), as well as other Andrew Christian favorites like the Button Brief, Show-It Ace Low Profile Brief and the Show-It No Show Brief.
