Swim Square Cut Trunks
Swim square cut trunks are an extremely popular style of men’s swimwear. They are body fitting like a swim brief, but provide more coverage. Covering up the “trunk” of the body, swim square cut trunks are named for the amount of coverage they provide the wearer. They feature a straight square front and wide side paneling. Swim square cut trunks sit low on the waist and cover about a quarter of the upper thigh accentuating the abdomen and the height of the wearer.
Similar to men’s swim briefs, swim square cut trunks are made with fast drying and water friendly fabrics like nylon and spandex.
Swim square cut trunks have seen a surge in popularity recently. Designers as notable as Versace and Dole & Gabbana have embraced the cut, incorporating it into their seasonal offerings. The cut has always been a constant top style in Brazil, however, where a similar cut, the sunga, is the most popular style of men’s swimwear.
