Fashion Jocks: Underwear For Bedroom Performance

There are your jockstraps, and then there are your fashion jocks. The original jockstraps were all about function and performance, support and protection. Today’s jockstraps aren’t so much athletic as they are sexy. Sure their origins bring to mind athletes and locker rooms; but, even before that, they bring to mind masculine sex appeal.

Model Shawn Alexander wears 9 different fashion jocks in The Underwear Expert’s exclusive photoshoot. What is a fashion jock? The answer is simple. A fashion jock is a jockstrap that puts style before function. In other words, a jock with a little flash here and there.

Most of our showcased fashion jocks get their trendy edge through some smart color-blocking and contrasting accents. And in the case of one jockstrap in particular: some extra straps. Nasty Pig, N2N, PUMP!, and Junk Underjeans are all featured with blue jockstraps — each of them accented to let the chosen shade pop.

The blue N2N Primary Jock straddles the line between classy and sporty with its yellow-accented waistband. The striped pouch on Junk Underjeans’ Stellar Jock gives it a more casual appeal — one that is still sporty — thanks to the thick waistband. Nasty Pig is another stylish look, featuring a lighter shade of blue and sporty white contrasts on the pouch and waistband. Then there is PUMP!, who of course uses micromesh for an athletic finishing touch.

Croota — one of the masters in unconventional takes on classic styles — uses blue and white to accent their orange Midpoint Jock. The orange pouch is accented with a white seam and accompanied with a white waistband. The thick waistband also has a blue stripe running through the middle of it. The orange/blue/white combination gives Croota’s featured jock something perfect for the every day athlete.

Of course, if you’re one of the men who see jockstraps and immediately think “sex underwear” before “athletic underwear,” your ideal fashion jock probably looks more like the Richard Hunter XXX Jock Strap. The design essentially does away with the waistband and replaces it with straps identical to those that wrap around the rear. This brings the fun and frisky attention to the front. You show off more skin than the average jock will allow, and it looks as though the pouch is suspended in a sexy way.

Do you own any jockstraps you consider to be fashion jocks? On what sorts or occasions do you wear your jockstrap underwear? Let us know in the comments below, or by tweeting us @underwearexpert.

I’ve been wearing jocks for over 15 years as regular underwear. I am so glad to see more and more designers and men getting into the industry and wearing them. Jocks give men something to show others that we too have something to be proud of and share.
