Whether it’s underwear, swimwear, or your basic apparel piece, the first and most important thing is how a piece of clothing fits your body. And for some of us, size small still doesn’t fit quite right. (And God forbid we resort to the largest size boy clothes.) Enter XS men’s underwear. XS pairs may be hard to come by, since not every men’s brand goes smaller than a small. But there are a few brands that remember us XS-sized men. And lucky for us, they know a small waist doesn’t always translate to a small package.
Model Kai Braden is back for The Underwear Expert’s exclusive photoshoot dedicated to XS men’s underwear. He models 10 different pairs designed by four different brands, each of which designs their XS undies for guys with a lean and mean waist size less than or up to 30 inches. So if your jeans have a 28 or 29 waist, these XS undies are for you. Whether you want to admit you need an extra-small anything or not, these pairs of underwear will fit properly, look more flattering, and still give you the support you want from your underwear.
The biggest problem with small underwear on an extra-small guy isn’t always the waist. For instance, if you have a 30-inch waist, you’re right on the fence of most XS and S-sized underwear. So where then is the deciding factor? One answer is the comfort. If an XS feels to restrictive, then stick with the small.
You also want to look at the length of the underwear. Typically guys in-need of XS men’s underwear are a little vertically challenged. This can result in boxer briefs fitting a little too long, and hip briefs not showing enough skin. And the worst of them all: fabric that doesn’t form to your butt.
The pairs of XS men’s underwear featured in our photoshoot come from aussieBum, OddBalls, teamm8, and MyPackage. If you’re one of those guys who struggles to find the perfect fitting pair of jeans, at least you know now where to find the perfect fitting pairs of underwear.
