About the product: Part of the Rufskin’s performance line of underwear, the Vault Trunk is designed to combine style and function in equal measure. Fabricated using a 92% micro polyester and 8% spandex blend, this pair’s fabric also features sweat-wicking capability and 4-way stretch with high recovery. The waistband on these low-rise trunks is thin, elastic and enclosed, and they have essentially no pouch. This pair offers full coverage.
What we like: Rufskin has long been known for its bold and fashion forward yet relatively simplistic designs, and the Vault Trunk is no exception. We like that this pair follows the typical Rufksin pattern of clean lines and bold accent features (here a faux fly and branded eyelet hole) to, in many ways, take the attention of the pair itself and refocus it on your body.
What we don’t like: The fit and fabric both weren’t quite what we were hoping for. The lack of any sort of defined pouch left our package feeling split in half. Though it wasn’t the most comfortable feeling in the world, it did offer a unique kind of support, though that support was quite constricting. The feel of the fabric wasn’t as soft as we would would like, but it did breathe relatively well and help dry sweat quickly.
When we’d wear them: Rufskin recommends this pair for working out and other high-performance tasks, but we’d take the opposite view. We think this pair might actually be better suited for a day off, lounging around the house.
Who we’d recommend them to: Guys who want to try a different take on the traditional trunk.
Describe these underwear in 3 words: Fashion. Forward. Snug.
