Project Las Vegas Tradeshow August 2015 Coverage – Part 1

Last week The Underwear Expert had the pleasure of attending the bi-annual Project Menswear Convention in Las Vegas, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. Our Style Reporter, James Pianka, was reporting on site joined by our Creative Director, Jerrad Matthew, and Managing Editor, Daniel Addice, along with other staff members to see what’s new in the world of men’s underwear and meet with over 40 underwear brands. In this first video, you’ll see and hear from 2(X)IST, de la COMMUNE, Junk Underjeans, Gregg Homme, Calvin Klein, Papi, Bread & Boxers, Betones, Saxx and Happy Socks.

Our first stop was with the Creative Director of 2xist, Jason Scarlatti. Jason revealed that we can expect, “fun patterned color…” for 2015. He also disclosed that 2xist plans to “evolve the man into different categories” with the introduction of bags at this trade show.

Next up we chatted with Reese De Luca, Creative Director de la COMMUNE. Reese described the brand as, “A men’s lifestyle loungewear brand…” Their concept for their 2015 loungewear collection is inspired by the idea of men, “being able to wear something comfortable around the house, but then still being able to throw on [their] combat boots and leather jacket.”  The goal is to feel comfortable, “without looking like [they’re] wearing sweatpants.”

The whole show was full of new and innovate designs and patterns – paired with vibrant, fun colors… all in a day’s work!  Stay tuned for much more from the Project Menswear Show – we’re excited to bring you a look.
