Everyone knows that if you want to look your best you have to put the work in. These butt workouts, aka, Make Your Booty Look Beautiful In Any Pair Of Underwear, will step up your booty game just in time to show it off this summer!
1. Squats: Squats are really good for your booty, and an excellent fat burner. If you aren’t used to doing them, start out without any additional weight, and just use your body weight. Plant your feet equally apart, toes facing forward. Start to squat back, letting your hips lead the way – not your thighs, until your bum is parallel with your knees.
If you’re unsure whether or not you can do this on your own, place a chair behind you approximately four inches away, and sit back on it. This should help with your form. As time goes on and you become more comfortable with the movement, add some weight – either holding dumbbells at your sides, or a barbell over your shoulders (use a spotter for safety).
Trust us – squats will be your best recourse to Make Your Booty Look Beautiful.
2. Weighed Walking Lunges: These will work out your booty and legs while helping you maintain better balance. When first starting out, use a light dumbbell weight, one for each hand. Take one fairly large step forward, making sure you maintain your balance, then lower your legs. Your back knee should come down to about 1 inch from the floor, and your front knee shouldn’t pass your toes. Then come back up, bringing your back foot forward to land parallel to your other foot. Then repeat with the opposite foot leading the way.
If you look forward instead of down while you do this, you will be less likely to fall, and if you fall, just get right back up and continue! You’ll get there – practice makes perfect, and practice truly will Make Your Booty Look Beautiful!
3. Single Leg Bridge: This one will work out your hamstrings, too! Lay flat on the floor, your hands planted flat, stretched out at your sides, and planting one foot down. Extend your other leg out, lifting it slightly so that it doesn’t touch the floor. Extend your hips upward, using your planted foot as the base. Extend up as high as you can, and be sure to clench your butt at the top for optimal muscle engagement. Then bring your hip down to about an inch off the floor and repeat for 15 reps (less if this is hard for you and work your way up), then switch sides.
4. Hip Extension: Lay face down on a elevated surface (bed, workout bench, etc…) with your hips at the edge. With your toes pointed toward the floor, lift your legs to be parallel with your hips. Extend one leg up while squeezing your butt and hamstrings, lower it to be level with your hips and alternate with the other leg for 20 reps. This should look like your kicking your legs while swimming. Do this for 3 sets.
Next, try the same position, with your legs parallel to your hips. Open and close your legs, with one leg going over the other. Alternate this movement. Keep your butt and hamstrings flexed while doing this for 20 reps, 2 – 3 sets if you can; if not, work up to it.
