Hug An Australian Day is finally upon us, but don’t just give out those warm embraces willy nilly. First, make sure your Aussie guy is an attractive one, chances are he will be – there must be something in water down under. Second, make sure he celebrates the day with a stylish pair of Australian-made underwear.
Photographer Jerrad Matthew’s latest exclusive for The Underwear Expert makes you want to do more than just hug an Australian. Starring model Matt Conrad, the shoot features 12 pairs designed by 12 Australian underwear brands, one of which is actually a super narrow swim trunk. And when it comes to Matt, the more narrow the better.
Brands such as Croota and Mitch Dowd show off their Australian pride in big ways. Croota’s Great Sandy Desert 01 Boxer Brief has one of the most contemporary and flattering cuts around, especially when checking out the back. In this pair, Matt Conrad’s rear is written on with the brand name, “The United States of Australia,” and a kangaroo graphic. But that’s still not as patriotic as Mitch Dowd’s green and gold pair, with “AUSTRALIA” written across the waistband’s front.
Stonemen’s The Lake Brief and the Sugar Skull Boxer Brief from Sly Collective represent Australia’s trend-setters. Stonemen has made its mark by collaborating with artists to design their panoramic pairs of underwear. Sly Collective’s look is trendy in the exact opposite way. Rather than stun with a 360º design, the light blue Sugar Skull Boxer Brief is asymmetrical, a contrasting white design on the left leg alone.
We’ve got to hand it to these Australian underwear brands. Every pair modeled by Matt Contrad has an impressive fit. 2eros, Cocksox, and Supawear appear to treat his family jewels like prized possessions. Mosmann and aussieBum each feature with “everyday pairs,” both of which are sexy without even trying. And then there’s that Croota boxer brief, giving a new and improved meaning to a “second skin” fit. So as you go about your day, keep this in mind: you can hug an Australian, but you can’t hug them better than their underwear.
