Item reviewed: Alick Alexander Roland Brief – Red
About the product: The Alick Alexander Roland Brief has a classic, full-coverage brief cut. Made with a ribbed fabric, the material blend (95% cotton, 5% spandex) is slightly stretchy yet firm. A blue waistband contrasts a red body, which itself is accented by white trim. The yellow Roland Brief is also designed with a blue waistband.
What we liked: The red Alick Alexander Roland Brief uses a timeless trio of colors that make the pair a little old-school. The all-American look is complimented by the retro cut of the brief – wider along the hips. The ribbed material is also a nice touch of style that is different from other pairs of underwear that we have reviewed in the past. However, while it’s intended to give the Roland Brief a looser fit, it nearly accomplishes the opposite.
While the ribbed material makes the Alick Alexander Roland Brief supportive and snug, it keeps the brief from providing as much comfort as it could, especially on the pouch. The front is designed with a center seam to give your package more room and a little definition. Still, the fit down below may be too snug for some.
When we’d wear them: This is definitely an “everyday” pair of underwear. The old school athleticism is great for attending a minor league game of any kind. We’d also wear them on the weekend when taking care of things around the house.
Who we’d recommend them to: Men who appreciate the classics. Younger, sportier guys.
In three words: Snug. Retro. Casual.
