We’ve come to expect the unexpected from Happy Socks, yet their new Art of Inspiration Collection, a collaboration with Snoop Dogg, still managed to surprise.
The rapper is accustomed to flexing his artistic muscles, this time stretching into painting. Seeing it as “a great expression to explain the music and the things [he] went through in life,” Snoop starts creating. He uses more than brushes. Squirting water guns and throwing water balloons, he creates compelling, vibrant, and abstract works of art.
Happy Socks provided Snoop Dogg with the opportunity to get all kinds of color-happy across multiple canvases. In the above video, he discusses his creative process and what inspires his different forms of expression. He even illuminates us on why he, as an artist, is passionate about painting.
“…painting gives me an emotion like no other,” he says. “I don’t have no parameters. When I’m acting there’s certain things I can’t do. When I’m rapping there’s certain things I can’t do. There’s certain things I won’t do. But with painting, there’s no limits.”
After watching the video, you’ll understand why Snoop Dogg was the perfect choice for a collaboration with Happy Socks. Both focus on expression and attitude, and both have a keen, artistic eye. It was definitely a smart move on Happy Socks. Snoop Dogg’s socks are sure to bring more fans to the brand and create a buzz. And beyond that, the Art Of Inspiration series solidifies Happy Socks as something more than a brand.
