Doing an exercise for speed is only a good idea if you’re confident in your form when doing regular reps. Go Green demonstrates speed deadlifts in this Instagram video. You can see that his form is still spot on during the reps. His legs are firmly planted on the ground and his core extends as he stands up during each rep’s peak.
If you are going to do one power lift at the gym, let it be deadlifts. They tackle a lot of different muscle groups and are a smart tool if you are looking to increase your overall fitness. If you are already accustomed to deadlifts, then speed deadlifts will test you harder than other variations and reps.
