In this Instagram video, Go Green works toward his five rep max deadlift. He doesn’t get to his max, but manages to lift an impressive 415 lbs for five reps. Finding the maximum amount of weight you can lift for any given exercise is something you should only attempt if you’re comfortable and confident in your ability to do the motion properly. This is especially true when trying to find your one rep max.
Finding your five rep max is a little more difficult than finding your one rep max. With five reps, you need to remain focused longer to ensure that you are consistently using the correct form. In the video, you can see that Go Green slows down by the last rep, but his form is just as clean as it was on the first.
