GO Green Fit: Heavy Jump Rope

This workout vid from gogreen2nd is all about using a heavy jump rope. Jumping rope is one of the most rudimentary exercises out there, and one that most people have already done at some point in their life — most likely for fun rather than exercise. But in this video, our trainer uses a legitimately heavy rope to increase resistance and build strength.

Using a heavy jump rope is a great way to burn off calories quickly. And don’t let the heavy jump rope intimidate you. The heaviness of the rope is no different than adding increased resistance to your rind dips or any other exercise. Getting started with a heavy jump rope can be a bit difficult as it requires your arm strength to get into gear quickly to build enough momentum for the rope to pass over your head.
