Puma’s Best Running Socks

Championing athletic apparel for 90 years, German multinational enterprise Puma celebrates with a look back at Puma’s Best Running Socks.

Starting in 1974 with the Men’s All Sport Superlite (2 pack, $14), Puma created a lightweight, moisture-wicking sock with mesh ventilation panels and dynamic arch compression — and so began a siege on a new type of jock wear. Two years later, they followed up with the All Sport Pro Tech Microfiber Low Cut Socks (2 Pack, $18), a pair designed to prevent blisters and keep socks from slipping while tailoring the sock to specific left and right feet for a custom fit and feel. In the start of the Egregious Eighties, the company introduced Men’s All Sport 360° (2 Pack, $18), which protects Achilles to eliminate friction and protect blisters and Y heel gore cradles your heel before pushing forward with the Men’s All Sport Pro Elite (2 Pack, $20) in ’83. By targeting footbed cushioning for concentrated impact protection and comfort, the brand made sure they were here to stay.

Thirty-one years since, they have pioneered the way we wear shoes, trends in underwear and fashion and culture. We wonder what the centennial will look like. Here’s to Year 2024!

Some of Puma’s Best Running Socks are available in XXS-3XL, with sizes ranging from 7-13.
