Janie Bryant and Mack Weldon Prove Style Starts With Underwear

Janie Bryant and Mack Weldon

“Behind every great man stands a great woman,” and she goes by the name of Janie Bryant.

Bryant is responsible for bringing the dapper suits and clean lines of the ’60s to present day as the Costume Designer for hit television show Mad Men.” The Emmy award winner has played a major role in the resurgence of ’60s style and vintage-inspired designs appearing in contemporary fashion, so it’s safe to say she knows a thing or two about style. What, then, would make more sense than a collaboration with New York based underwear brand Mack Weldon? The two recently teamed up to create a collection of socks for the brand.

“Janie dresses some of the best dressed men on TV and has roots in textile manufacturing – having grown up inside a family-owned Tennessee sock mill. She has written about the category and how important these items are to any great wardrobe,” Brian Berger, Founder and CEO of Mack Weldon said in a Press Release.

Aside from her sock designs, Bryant will also offer tips and picks through the brand’s social media platforms; and, she will also write posts on Mack Weldon’s newest blog, “Well Said.” Her first project with Mack Weldon was the Holiday Gift Bundles, which she helped curate and promote.

We strongly believe that underwear makes the man — that it is the most important layer of clothing you put on because it sets the tone for the rest of your day and ultimately, gives you a boost of confidence. Bryant’s vision parallels with ours: “I’ve always believed that a great look starts with the foundational elements.” We can already tell this collab has tons of promise, and we can’t wait to see what the two come up with in 2014.
