On Sept. 7, while a crowd of men twerked to Miley Cyrus and dropped it low to a Jump Smokers remix of Britney Spears, Mr. Case, dressed in black suspenders, slacks and a skinny tie, waited in the back of XL Nightclub’s Main Floor stage for his cue. As Justin Case Underwear flashed on the screen, it was time for Case to launch the brand of underwear he had worked hard to produce.
As the music thumped, the models began to trickle out one by one. The staging for the show was fun and simple, a lot like the product being modeled. According to the Justin Case Underwear site, the brand believes that “oversized text, garish images, and outlandish logos ruin an attractive undergarment.”
When it came to the product, we saw this mission executed well. The waistbands of the underwear were all black and provided a subtle contrast to the colors of the underwear. The bold, solid colors of some of the underwear were not loud while others were vibrant. The pastels were of particular interest because its a color palette missing from the market at the moment. Our favorite underwear were the prints, specifically the zebra and polka dot.
