The fashion culture is obsessed with nostalgia. Whether it is for the sake of irony, or it’s a product so timelessness that it transcends the constantly changing fads, a great deal of what we consider fashionable reflects the past.
Greek brand Modus Vivendi hit the nostalgic nail right on it’s head by bringing back the Eighties bodywear singlet, a product originally designed by Christos Bibitsos in 1989 and produced in 1990. The black and white photo located in the gallery below is from the original, 90’s campaign; a time when a tank/underwear one piece was thought to be predominately for female gymnasts, Modus Vivendi is a true, singlet pioneer.
The Modus Vivendi Eighties bodywear singlet is made from a fabric blend of 93% cotton and 7% elastane, which means the singlet will form to your body, while still offering a great stretch. The singlet comes in five colors including fuchsia, aqua, yellow, red and blue, along with contrasting white piping. The Eighties singlet also features a much deeper cut under the arms that accentuates the hips. The two press buttons located on the bottom of the singlet also make for a quicker dress time. Check out the product photos below and let us know @underwearexpert which singlet you’d most likely find yourself in.
