ANTM Male Models Get Made Over

America’s Next Top Model Cycle 20 is rolling out it’s new episode this Friday, and, from the looks of these photos we snagged, it is going to be major. In light of low ratings from its previous season which featured a whole new panel (no Miss J or Nigel) and college girls that weren’t really college girls, ANTM is coming back with a new concept: add some testosterone to the competition. Tyra Banks has said on the show that she didn’t use male contestants before because they are hard to market. Women can sell bags and makeup while guys can sell a limited amount of things… like underwear. Let’s be real though, the last time ANTM had a knock out contestant that took modeling by storm was…yeah, still hasn’t happened.

Last week saw a ratings climb for the show. It was up 50% among adults 18-49, according to So, the addition of the male contestants is definitely paying off. For this coming week’s episode, “The Guy Who Gets A Weave,” the ANTM male models will be put into the true ANTM test: the makeover. We’re excited to see which guy ends up in more tears than the girls. Our money is on Don, who will do everything to win but might feel a little taken a back by having to go bleach blonde.

With that said, the transformations look great. We feel that Mike and Jeremy are still too subdued for us and are resting on pretty, while we are excited to see what Cory does with a shaved head and how Chris H handles his bleach do. As for the title of the show, it’s easy to see that brawny man Phil will be getting the weave. We just hope it’s not another Molly, Jael, or Brittany situation because a bad weave will die on your head. Since his strong performance in the earlier rounds, we are looking forward to seeing Marvin continue to shake things up and possibly win.
