Item Reviewed: James Tudor Regal brief
About the Product: Feel like a member of the royal navy in the James Tudor Regal brief comes in six colors, is made of 95% cotton and 5% elastane. The soft brief is low rise and seems to be inspired by royalty. It features contrasting leg piping and a unique three button frontal pouch.
What We Like: The James Tudor Regal brief looks fantastic. The stripes and ultra retro button front give the brief a nautical look that we dig. TheRegal brief was also comfortable. It’s low rise but felt as if it fell on a natural waistline.
What We Didn’t Like: If you push past their aesthetic appeal, the buttons just don’t function the way you want to. For example, if you wanted to go to the bathroom, you’d have to unzipped, unbutton, then button back up. With standard fly fronts, all you have to do, for lack of a better phrase, is whip it out and go. This adds a step.
Who We’d Recommend Them To: This is the brief for everyone who wants a designer pair of underwear with some sort of fly front. This is also a brief that offers a lot of coverage, even though it is low-rise. So, someone who wants a classic cut but an underwear that sits on the waistline.
When We’d Wear Them: Tea time with our partner, waiting for the announcement of the royal baby or on a cruise.
