Cupid’s Undies Run is a “mile-ish run in your bedroom-best on Valentine’s weekend.” The purpose? Cupid’s Undies Run raises money for the Children’s Tumor Foundation, a non-profit medical foundation dedicated to helping individuals affected by neurofibromatoses (NF).
People all over the United States will be stripping down to their undies for the 2013 run! There are scheduled runs in DC, NYC, Atlanta, Seattle, Denver, Cincinnati, LA, San Fran, Chicago, Austin, Nashville, Orlando, Minneapolis, Philly, Cleveland, St. Louis and Detroit. All festivities begin at noon on February 9th, with the exceptions of Cleveland and St. Louis, where the race begins on February 16th.
The underwear run will be followed by partying into the night.
You can join the run as an individual or as part of a fundraising team. There are prizes for participants including “Custom undies, VIP Open Bar, embroidered bathrobes, engraved iPod Nanos, romantic getaways.”
We especially like the custom undies part. See the location of the race closest to you and be sure to sign up on the official Cupid’s Undies Run site. You can also check out the organization’s Facebook page for more photos and updates.
NF is a genetic disorder that causes tumors to grow on nerves throughout the body, causing issues such as deafness, blindness, learning disorders and excruciating pain. Affecting approximately 1:3,000 births in the U.S., NF has no cure and limited treatment options.
For more information on NF and its research, visit the Children’s Tumor Foundation’s site.
