Calvin Klein To Sponsor Barclay Center

Calvin Klein has thrown their hat in the arena–the Brooklyn Nets arena, to be exact, in an effort to elevate “the Calvin Klein lifestyle” a Calvin Klein rep. told The Underwear Expert.

A multi-million dollar sponsorship deal will see Calvin Klein, subsidiary of PVH Corp., take charge of a 700 seat VIP area, otherwise known as the “Calvin Klein Courtside Club,” as well as one of four VIP entrances and a branded Calvin Klein VIP elevator. Arena officials called the planned sponsorship a “street to seat” brand immersion, according to the New York Post.

The fashion house’s sponsored VIP area will feature seats emblazoned with the black and white Calvin Klein logo to gel with Nets minority owner and hip-hop mogul Jay Z’s black and white stadium motif.

Set to open September 28th for the 2012-2013 season in Brooklyn, New York, the estimated $1 billion Barclays Center will also be sponsored by Coca-Cola, Ticketmaster and Emblemhealth, among others.

According to industry sources, the “founding partner” sponsorship deals cost upwards of $4 million a year. A representative for Calvin Klein could not be reached for comment.
