WORN: Small Plum/Baby Fitted Boxer
STYLE: Fitted Boxer
FUNCTION: Everyday, Relaxing, Going Out, Athletic
FIT: True to Size
FABRIC: 58% cotton, 37% polyester, 5% spandex
The Look: So-Cal, for sure. All of this fitted boxer — the contrasting colors, the wide stitching on the seams, the clasps on the fly, the way they spell their name — screams upscale LA skater dude. Perhaps it’s to be expected: the CEO Travis Siflinger is a veteran of that scene, having worked with skate apparel heavyweights such as Osiris. These fitted boxers seem like they’d fit right in to a closet already stuffed with skate shirts, shoes and socks. As for guys who don’t rock that look, the sharp colors and cuts of this underwear won’t cause you harm, either.
The Fit: Less baggy than a traditional boxer would be, but still looser and roomier than a boxer brief. The fitted boxer is the answer to a difficult question: what if boxer briefs are too tight for you, but you can’t take the bunching that a boxer would make you suffer? BR4SS takes this answer and runs with it. However, for men who appreciate a closer fit, this BR4SS misses the gold.
The Construction: A delight. The unique blend of cotton, polyester, and spandex is soft, supple and breathable, with the handfeel of a well-loved t-shirt. This is also a pair of underwear that gets out of your way, so there’s no notice of whether or not the crotch is sewn too closely or not. What is noticeable is the fact that it hugs the legs and rear without needing any of the elastic cling that boxer briefs rely on, which is a testament to strong construction.
The Underwear Expert Opinion: While not the normal style that the Underwear Expert goes for, this is undeniably a strong pair of underwear for the category that it chooses to compete in. If you have a more youthful, sporty look about you but don’t want something that’s so fashion-forward that you have to pay out the nose, BR4SS underwear is a solid contender.
