Underwear brand THE EIGHTH isn’t just trying to make your favorite pair of underwear, the brand is trying to make your favorite piece of clothing ever. Launched in 2014 in New York City, the minds behind the brand spent two years on research and development to engineer the ideal fit.
THE EIGHTH gets its name from the eight underwear styles in their collection. The brand designs the basics: briefs, trunks and boxer briefs. And then for a more well-rounded collection, long johns, active underwear, lounge underwear and two boxer short styles are added to the mix. Top-shelf fabrics and craftsmanship are then used to make those fits as comfortable as possible.
THE EIGHTH follows up on their prestigious fabrics with a refined aesthetic. You won’t find neon colors or revealing fabrics. Instead, THE EIGHTH is all about handsome solids and dynamic, minimal prints. Almost every style comes in black and white as well as shades of blue and grey. Purple, yellow and orange pairs are also designed but used sparingly. It’s that variety in the brand’s colors and styles that makes THE EIGHTH uniquely equipped to meet the modern man’s needs.
Pima cotton and Sea Island cotton blends used to make most of the brand’s pieces. Some pairs, though, are made with THE EIGHTH’s exclusive and light-weight micro-modal. These include their briefs and trunks, as well as their lounge underwear, which fits like a long-length boxer brief. Long johns, slim boxers and classic boxers get even more luxurious with cashmere blends and silk.
Something else you won’t find on THE EIGHTH’s underwear: attention-hogging waistbands. Each of the brand’s waistbands keeps the text to a minimum and accents it with subtle stripes. Design and style speak louder than words, and THE EIGHTH knows it better than most.
