We don’t know about you, but our underwear drawers at The Underwear Expert are normally divided into three piles: our performance underwear, our sexy underwear, and our casual underwear. Casual underwear is what we reach for first when getting dressed for the day. More often than not, they’re solid and unassuming, but not without a flattering sense of style that you wouldn’t mind being seen in – especially if you’ve got a body like James Pianka’s.
James models six pairs of casual underwear in our exclusive photoshoot below, each with simple and effective designs that stun without ever trying too hard. Four of his pairs are briefs and two of his pairs are trunks. These underwear styles are more modern than the common boxer brief, and will always provide a more flattering fit, thanks to their silhouettes. Because the first thing in finding your ideal pair of casual underwear is a fashionable cut.
Blue Code and Naked designs the most casual of James’ briefs. His white brief by Blue Code is about as classic as a pair of underwear can get, made more stylish with bold text on the waistband, and just a tad sexy with a contoured pouch. The Naked Ecoluxe Tencel Brief is equally casual with its color blocked design – a black body contrasted by a blue waistband. The colorblocking gives it the slightest sporty appeal. This pair is also designed with a contoured pouch, but what really earns it high points with The Underwear Expert is its naturally moisture wicking material derived from eucalyptus fibers.
D.Hedral and papi also provide James with casual briefs, albeit with a little flash. His papi brief comes from their Microfusion Performance Collection, which doubles as a pair of casual underwear and a performance one. The D.Hedral Gigoo Joe II Brief is the most stylized of his casual pairs, all thanks to a thermotape Y on the rear that gives provides a more flattering fit around back.
There is of course room for a pair of Wood underwear in our casual underwear shoot. James gets their trunk in Hermosa Blue, a color that’s soft around the edges and accented sweetly by Wood’s white waistband. And for a well-dressed man’s idea of casual underwear, James steps into Tani’s Silkcut Stripe Trunk.
