GO Green Fit: Heavier Deadlifts

You’ve seen this trainer demonstrate deadlifts several times, but in this Instagram video, he is going for some really heavy amounts. He does 7 reps while lifting 415 lbs. Deadlifts are probably the most commonly-done exercise when it comes to crossfit training. They are an awesome tool to tone your entire body, and are easy to do once you master the posture and positioning of the exercise. Of course, lifting as much as our trainer does here is never easy.

Deadlifts will hit your lower back more than anything, but will also target your calves, glutes, forearms, lats, traps, quads, and middle back. That is a lot of areas worked by a relatively simple move. However, deadlifts are difficult for anyone who hasn’t practiced them. If you are just getting into deadlifts, start by lifting the barbell and watch yourself in the mirror to make sure you have proper form. And to see what proper deadlift form looks like, watch the demonstrations in this video.

How much can you lift when doing deadlifts, and how many reps? What tips do you have for mastering the posture of deadlifts?  Let us know in the comments below, or by tweeting us @underwearexpert.
