GO Green Fit: Atlas Stone

This is another intense workout from our go-to fitness trainer on Instagram. In this video, we see demonstrations of box jumps and ground-to-shoulders done with an Atlas stone. The workout is done every minute on the minute (EMOM), with even minutes being devoted to 15 box jumps, and odd minutes being spent on 6 reps with the Atlas stone.

Atlas stones are usually associated with MMA or real heavy lifting, but they can work for everyone. The trick is that the ball is a difficult shape to grasp and therefore requires you to compensate with strength and stability. Also, any exercises done with an Atlas stone require a good deal of balance, as the Atlas stone’s center of gravity is unlike a typical weight and takes getting used to.
