WORN: Medium, White Blacksocks Augustine Brief
FUNCTION: Everyday, Relaxing, Going Out
FIT: True to size
FABRIC: 95% Pima Cotton, 5% Lycra
The Look: Simple, Sleek, Understated.
The Design: The Blacksocks Augustine Brief is fairly uniform, with a small logo on the band, vertical strips running down the crotch seams, and no fly. The waistband is very thin and minimal, with nothing to discern it from the fabric of the rest of the brief.
The Fit: The Blacksocks Augustine Brief fits well with a soft, cool touch. The waistband is amazingly comfortable. Thin and light, it’s not the rough elastic of a generic brief. Instead, it’s sturdy without being constricting. One misstep we noted was the thick vertical sewing up the front of the package. We definitely noticed it when wearing theses briefs, and aren’t really sure why it would be included. It seems a strange choice. Regardless, the Blacksocks Augustine Briefs are still a comfortable pair of underwear.
The Construction: We found these briefs to be high quality in terms of construction. The sewing is all well done and strong, and the decision to omit any tags on the interior is one we applaud. Even the small label seems to have been treated with consideration and care in regards to placement and adhering. This is a good quality brief.
The Underwear Expert Opinion: The Blacksocks Augustine Brief is a no-frills, comfortable brief. It’s construction holds up quite well, and though there are maybe one or two poor choices in its design, the brief still is a tempting contender.
