WORN: Chik O Loko Hart Silver Small Boxer Brief
FUNCTION: Everyday, Relaxing, Going Out
FIT: True to size
FABRIC: 95% Viscose, 5% Elastan
The Look: Youthful, almost like a skate brand. The hart in the name is an Old English word for “stag,” and that must explain the horned animal head which adorns the left leg of the boxer. However, the highly stylized image reminded us more of a bull. Regardless, the jagged lines along the waistband in the silver and white trim add movement to the boxer, and the contrasting white stitches on the seam piping emphasize it. The effect is kinetic, and it flirts with messiness without actually going there.
The Fit: Close, but not tight. There isn’t much in the way of support, but these boxers don’t sag in the back, either. The lift is a little higher than we would have liked, but the fit of the legbands keep everything from riding up too uncomfortably high.
The Construction: Overall, expertly sewn. There are a few wide stitches which we don’t particularly care for, but they don’t scratch or irritate. The lightweight fabric stays dry and allows the skin to breathe. The easy access fly is also a nice touch. This is a well-designed, properly constructed piece of underwear.
The Underwear Expert Opinion: Good for your younger cousin. These aren’t outstanding boxers, but they’re certainly not terrible — they’re solidly average. The energetic design and the quality fabric add up to a decent wearing experience, even if there’s nothing particularly memorable about it. Get these as a present for a stag party, if those still exist.
