In a prehistoric step back in time, 2wink has collaborated with an Aboriginal artist to create their new underwear range Walkabout. This marks the first time ever an underwear company has teamed up with an Aboriginal artist.
According to a press release, the underwear range will celebrate the Aboriginal Australian culture with footprints walking across the waistband. Designed by Aboriginal artist, Peter Mulchay of Queensland, Australia, the footprints symbolize the culture’s rite of passage for adolescent young men.
“We’re proud of our Australian history,” co-owner Carl McNeil told The Underwear Expert, “and we wanted to create a range of underwear celebrating the diversity of such history while also incorporating cultural elements that are around today.”
The Walkabout collection campaign features popular fitness model Lee Stram, who “helped to create an incredible buzz about the Walkabout range,” McNeil said.
The line will feature low-rise briefs and trunks made with a mixture of cotton and spandex. The briefs and trunks are constructed to highlight both front and back assets, and will be available exclusively in black.
The line will retail for around $21-$23.
Did You Know: Australians are renowned for giving you a ‘wink’ if they like what they see.
We’re definitely winking for this collection / collaboration, 2wink!
