STAFF WRITER

We are growing everyday and are looking for a start-up minded writer to join our small editorial team for a newly created Staff Writer position. The Staff Writer will manage, write and package photo content, product reviews and celebrity news as well as contribute feature articles to the website. This position reports to our Sr. Editor and works very closely with the Founder / Editor-in-Chief.

This is an exciting time at The Underwear Expert, and we’re looking for a career minded individual who wants to join us for a fun ride as we change the way people consume information about men’s underwear through innovation and content creation. We love what we do and are looking for someone who doesn’t just want a job — but is looking for a career that they can be passionate about.

The ideal candidate will have most of the following:

1-2 years writing experience for an online publication
Editorial management skills
News reporting experience
Understanding of blogging and social media
Familiarity with WordPress or other CMS
Experience with SEO
Interview and research skills
Knowledge of AP style guide
Experience in men’s fashion
An excellent eye for great photos and content
The ability to think outside the box
Immaculate organizational skills
Mac savvy

The ideal candidate will also have knowledge of the men’s underwear industry, be an underwear fanatic, or learn very quickly.

INTERNSHIPS (Writers, Marketing, Video Production/Editing)

The Underwear Expert is currently looking to fill fashion internships with ambitious students studying journalism, fashion, marketing or retail that are ready to put their skills to good use. Nowadays, men’s underwear is one of the most prominent (not to mention exciting) parts of the men’s fashion industry, and  The Underwear Expert will provide many opportunities to further your experience; you’re guaranteed to have fun doing it, too. From editorial duties to overseeing exciting marketing campaigns, spending your fashion internship with us will give you plenty of hands on experience.

The ideal candidate for this fashion internship will be VERY comfortable and EXCITED about the subject matter (men’s underwear).

You will get hands on experience in:  

  • Research.
  • Writing.
  • Photo editing.
  • Interviewing.
  • Image curating.
  • Administrative tasks.

CONTRIBUTING WRITERS

What we’re looking for: A network of savvy, witty and intelligent freelance writers who will pitch articles to us and / or take assignments.

Who we’re looking for: Writers and bloggers with experience in men’s fashion, men’s underwear, celebrity gossip, viral content, SEO and content management systems. That said, we’re happy to accept writing samples from anyone!

What amateurs get: Credited byline and some free underwear here and there.

What professionals get: Credited byline, potential syndication and article stipend.
