Beach Volleyball: Swimwear Edition

The volleyball nets that stake out your favorite beaches have been relatively empty for the last several months, but that won’t last much longer. Soon the sand will be hot and the courts will be full of beach bodies that have been kept under relative wraps. When you get out onto the court this spring and summer, whether you’re playing doubles or on a team of six, you’ll want to stand out not only for your play but for your dress. The right beach volleyball swim shorts, trunks, or briefs can raise not only your game but other eyes on the beach. In Beach Volleyball: Swimwear Edition, we’ve got a few pairs that we think will help you make the transition from the court to the water and back again between games all summer long.

The Marcuse Amigo Trunk, pictured above in Apricot, shows us that volleyball swimwear can be both serious and fashionable. The fabric is 80% Nylon and 20% Spandex, dries quickly between dips in the waves or in the pool, and features Marcuse gold embroidery on the back logo. The inside drawstring gives these trunks a tidy look, and the Italian-made fabric is soft while it also supports the hard work of digs and serves.

Made in U.S. of 100% Polyester, The Gary Brief is a sleek option that will keep you on the attack. The Gary has an elastic waistband and an adjustable drawstring with a gold/silver detail. The side seam is a mere three inches, so there is plenty of room to power up above the net for a spike or a fingertip pass.

Australia’s teamm8 has several swimwear styles, but today, in the spirit of fast-paced world of beach volleyball, we’re focussing on the Dash Swim Brief. The Dash lets you cinch up for maximum speed with its signature inner-weaving drawcord. The logo on the side is subtle and the rise is low, so when the other players feel you rush by them for a diving save, they’ll have to react quickly to admire your form.
