Layering is a must when the weather outside is frightful. The trick is looking like the cold never bothered you anyway – not like you’re going camping. Luck for you, underwear brands such as Obviously design longer underwear and undershirts to serve as your insulating base layer. We kick off this look with the Obviously Lumber – AnatoFREE Boxer 9-Inch Leg for this week’s Complete The Look: Obviously. Check out the rest below.
The Obviously Lumber – AnatoFREE 9-Inch Boxer Brief – Cranberry (1) has a sharp and sporty black/red contrast working for it. But what makes it a great choice for winter is the added length. It stops just of above the knee to make movement easy, all the while keeping you warm.
Next we throw on the Obviously Essenve V-Neck Short Sleeve Undershirt – Black (2). The black undershirt works off the black contrasts of our underwear, and looks pretty damn good all on it’s own. If you live somewhere where it’s really cold, the long sleeve version would also work.
We chose the Rick Owens DRKSHDW Detroit Fit Skinny Jeans – Dark Dust Grey (3) for our pants. The color is perfect for playing up our underwear’s black/red contrast later. The grey is dark but has an earthy tone that will make the colors we have coming pop.
On top of our denim we put on the Topman Crewneck Sweater with Elbow Patches – Burgundy Multi (4). It’s not technically red, and we don’t want it to be. It’s darker than Obviously’s Cranberry color, and takes their sporty contrast somewhere more akin to cold weather fashion.
Speaking of cold weather, no winter look is complete without a jacket. In this case, we chose the Kenneth Colr New York Quilted Zip Front Jacket – Black (5). The quilted style is great for keeping in heat, and here has a mod look that’s not too poofy. The black color also stands out against our red sweater and grey denim.
We finish things off with the Clae ‘Strayhorn SP’ Chukka Boot – Black Tumbled Leather (6). The low-rise, lace-up style keeps with the casual attitude of our look, and makes sure our jacket isn’t the only black we work with.
