Jump ropes are a great conditioning tool, and crossfit exercises often use them for double unders. Double unders are when the rope passes under your feet twice during a jump. It sounds simple enough, but it gets your heart rate up quickly and is challenging if you aren’t used to the motion.
A common mistake when performing double unders is the rotation of your arms. Instead, focus on your wrists and jump higher than you think you need to. This is just to gauge how high you really need to jump to get the rope to pass under you twice. In the video, you can see Go Green demonstrating double unders rapidly and with proper form. If double unders are already part of your routine, try finding another jump rope exercise that challenges you.
