Windshield wipers are a great way to work out your core and get you closer to those abs you’ve been killing yourself to get. Windshield wipers can be performed while hanging from a bar or down on a mat. If you are doing this exercise from a bar, it will require a lot of strength from your upper back in addition to your core. But one of the best benefits of doing windshield wipers is that they also work your obliques. These are the muscles on the sides of your core, and are an essential target when working towards a 6-pack.
In this workout video though, our trainer combines winshield wipers with some ‘Around The World’ reps. An ‘Around The World’ is a similar movement to those of the windshield wiper, but you rotate your legs in a full circle. Either way, both exercises are the best kind of hell for your core.
