This Instagram video shows us demonstrations of bar muscle-ups and butterfly sit-ups. Normally this combination would combine bar muscle-ups and double unders, but the trainer substitutes double unders for the butterflies. Butterfly sit-ups are a pretty simple way to work your core and can be easily performed by any newcomer to the gym.
Essentially, a butterfly sit-up only varies from the average sit-up in that your legs are open with your feet together. Imagine the starting position for a sit-up, and then let your knees fall while keeping your feet together. Having your legs this way is a more strenuous method to do a sit-up because it puts more strain on your core. This also makes it more difficult for you to cheat by using your legs.
