GO Green Fit: Walking Lunges And More

This workout from our go-to crossfit trainer hits just about every mark we can imagine. It is a combination of five exercises — strict pull-ups, ring push-ups, AbMat sit-ups, walking lunges, and finally an AirDyne session. By the end of this routine, there is no telling which of your muscle groups will be the most sore. The pull-ups and ring push-ups will work your upper body, especially your shoulders and abs. Sit-ups are of course a standard when defining your abdominal muscles. Then finally, the cardio from the AirDyne and the walking lunges will put the burn in your legs.

Overall, this is a pretty well-rounded crossfit routine, focusing on building strength. The only thing missing is the heavy weights. But the walking lunges are something rather uncommon for this trainer. But walking lunges are still a compound movement. The layman might think walking lunges are good for your legs and nothing more. In reality, compound exercises are worth more than your parts it strains as it moves your entire body. When performing walking lunges, the burn will mainly be in your quads, calves, glutes, and hamstrings.
