There are two kinds of people in this world: those with abs and those who want them. No matter which category you are closer to, Jason Wimberly’s video for Fabletics is incredibly helpful. He shows us 5 different variations of the plank that are made to sculpt out those abs.
The first plank variation is the plank wall-up. You start out in a low plank position, and from there single-handedly lift yourself into a high plank. You also lower yourself one hand at a time, making balance an important aspect of this plank. Jason also recommends placing an object on your lower back to make sure you aren’t swaying your hips. Another variation that will tighten up your core is the plank walkout. From a high plank position where your hands are directly below your shoulders, you walk out on your hands. Only go as far as you can without sacrificing your form. Hold that position for 5 seconds before walking back on your hands and doing it again.
What do you think of Jason’s upgrades to the basic plank? If you’ve taken his advice, how many abs have started to surface since? Let us know in the comments below or by tweeting us @underwearexpert.
