This is one of our trainer’s more intense workouts. With 8 sets and 8 reps of 7 different exercises, all under 40 minutes, it is a total body workout that will test both your muscle strength and cardiovascular ability. The workout begins with a set of hang power snatches to set the burn in your hamstrings. This is followed up with a set of toe-to-bar movements, that again work your legs but also your core.
The third exercise of the routine is a set of 8 burpees. Burpees are one of the cardio-related exercises in this routine. In spite of their comical name, they are difficult and also very effective. A burpee is like a mash up of a squat and a push-up. You begin standing up and then squat down, placing your hands on the floor. From there you move your feet back until you are in the push-up position. Then you do a push-up, jump up, and get back down again. After completing a set of burpees, our trainer then moves onto a set of hang power cleans. Watch as our trainer rotates his elbows around the bar rather than moving the bar around with his arms. And finally after this set, the workout is just about half way over.
