Working out your core is something people tend to skip simply because it is a hard part of the body to work, and a lot of the exercises are outside of an average gym-goer’s comfort zone. This video, though, shows two simple and effective exercises that work your core hard. Sit-ups are the standard when it comes to achieving those six-pack abs. However, a lot of the time they are done inefficiently. In the video, you can see how our trainer has a wider range of motion using the bench. This targets more areas of the stomach, especially around the waist.
Back extensions look like a reversed sit-up, but is a lot more difficult simply because we use are back less on a daily basis. In the video, our trainer has his hands up by his head. Other trainers will tell you to cross your arms over your chest. Either way, you restrict yourself from using the momentum in your arms to make the exercise easier. Back extensions target your lower back. But if you don’t have a hyperextension bench available to you, a stiff-legged deadlift is another move that can target the same area.
