Best Dressed GRAMMYs 2014 In Underwear

This weekend featured music’s biggest night — the Grammy’s — and they truly did not disappoint. Though we may not have seen as many waistbands as we were hoping to, The Underwear Expert was cheering on Daft Punk, getting amped with Kendrick Lamar and Imagine Dragons, loving Beyonce, and scouring the red carpet for great (and cringe-worthy) fashion along with the rest of you. And just because the ceremony didn’t necessarily tip its hat to our personal favorite wardrobe staple doesn’t mean we can’t. We here at The Underwear Expert thought it might be fun to take a look at some of the best dressed of the night, and pair them with what we think would look the best underneath.

Daft Punk. We think it’s safe to say that our favorite French robots were the winners of the night, and they looked the part, too. From their matching suits, right down to their glittering kicks — these guys have always been the epitome of cool. We may have no idea who they are underneath those helmets (as a popular internet meme says, they could be anyone), but we do feel that the perfect pair of underwear to complete this look would be Gregg Homme’s Tuxedo Boxer Briefs ($32.95). The bow ties just make it.

Kendrick Lamar looked nothing short of suave Sunday night in his blue suit with black accents. The young rapper has been taking the hip hop scene by storm over the past few years, and he’s showing no signs of slowing down any time soon. We’ve paired him with Tani’s Air Contrast Brief ($40), not only for its color but also for its make. Created from a blend of 95% Micro Tencel and 5% Lycra, this underwear wicks moisture and is naturally cooling, so Kendrick can continue killing it on stage, while staying ultra comfortable.

We were wild about Miguel’s rockstar look on the red carpet, complete with black vinyl pants and gold accessories. We knew only one pair of underwear would be able to finish off the look — Bodyaware’s Luxe Rubber-Look Contour Shorts ($32.95). The fabric is a perfect fit, and a contouring front pouch never hurts. These shorts from Bodyaware are made from 96% polyester and 4% spandex, so they’re extremely form-fitting and sure to look amazing.

Keith Urban looked city chic in black skinny jeans and a semi-sheer grey top. For this cool, yet sophisticated outfit we wanted to pair him with a classic brand, made for denim: Mack Weldon. The super soft Brief ($19.50) in true black, of course. This guy is made out of a 47.5% Long Staple Cotton – 47.5% Modal – 5% Lycra blend and comes complete with a no roll waistband, so Keith will be totally comfortable all night long.

Imagine Dragons always look cool — and Grammy night was no exception. This four-piece rock group from Las Vegas, Nevada rocked the red carpet in dark, yet still fun, suits — coordinating without being too match-y. Frontman Dan Reynolds’ great button-down inspired us to pick out an equally great print from MeUndies, the Men’s Brief in Arrows by Cavern ($20). This pair has a contour pouch for extra comfort and support, and best of all — they look amazing.

Lastly — this guy might not have known what he was wearing, but we have some ideas. The ever-entertaining Robin Thicke. He made headlines last year with the hit “Blurred Lines,” and we think under that posh Armani suit there’s a playful party boy waiting to come out. Which is why we’ve paired him with Male Power’s Anaconda Bong Thong ($16). Loud, fun, and risqué, we can’t think of a more appropriate undergarment for the superstar.
