Hunger Games Stars Talk Underwear Problems

We’ve all been waiting patiently– well, maybe not as patiently– for the release of “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” movie, which premiers today and it turns out that The Hunger Games has a lot more references to underwear than one would think.

The wetsuit banter between Josh Hutcherson, Sam Claflin, Jennifer Lawrence and Jena Malone with E! News corespondent, Marc Malkin did not fall below our radar. It was interesting to hear the actors talk about the problems they faced when it came down to what to wear under their wetsuits. The actor’s costumes for the entire movie are basically those wetsuits, and it seems like they had to adjust and re-adjust what to wear underneath them. Over the course of their interview we heard cups, boxer briefs, thongs and cycling shorts were suggested to them by the crew, and even some of the actors decided to free ball it. While some found comfort in the suits eventually, surprisingly Alan Ritchson who plays Gloss didn’t find as much comfort in them as Hutcherson.

You would think this former underwear model who has appeared in major campaigns for N2N and was a popular face on underwear e-commerce website, would have felt the most at ease. Given his background for posing barely naked he joked with E! News saying if that wer the case, “For me, I’d walk out in a thong thinking, ‘I’m in costume. It’s like, ‘Hey, I’m ready for the death scene,’ and they’d be like, ‘Uh, we can see part of your crotch.'”

However, the real story is that the former underwear model, who enjoys his Southern fired and gravy drenched food wasn’t as content in the wetsuits as other actors. “It was awful,” the 28-year-old said. “You know what, it’s like going home and wanting to eat some good soul food in Atlanta and having to squeeze my greasy, fried-chicken self into that thing every morning? It was terrible. It was a pretty nuts costume,” said Ritchson in an E! News interview. Well, we don’t see what he’s worrying about.

We think he could model the hell out of any pair of underwear and be the face of a major underwear campaign. But, more importantly we want to hear your thoughts on Ritchson and the entire Hunger Games wetsuit/underwear fiasco by commenting below or tweeting @underexpert.
