‘Real Men’ Recreate Known Underwear Ads

Have you seen those Dove beauty ads? Well, of course you have. It’s hard not to turn  on the television or open your email without being inundated with how real beauty should look. Admittedly, the one with the police sketch guy was kind of creepy, but, we loved the one where the model gets super photoshopped. When you are a man watching these kinds of commercials, it’s rather hard to sympathize. Guys face similar body issues, but no one seems to be talking about them. That is, until now.

The Sun newspaper in the UK has released a series called “What Real Men Would Look Like in Pants.” The series follows four “average” men as they recreate popular ads by models David Beckham, David Gandy, Freddie Ljungberg, and Cristiano Ronaldo. The men chosen were readers of The Sun and each serve up their unique perspectives of sexiness in the shots.

Check out these real men in underwear below. What do you think of the shoot? Tell us in the comments section of by tweeting @underwearexpert.

Maybe these are really typical Sun readers.
But it’s not necessary to make no effort at all at being physically attractive to count as a ‘real man’. That’s a really old-fashioned attitude, probably encouraged by the male entitlement culture of the Sun’s page 3 attitudes.
The Dove campaign is pointing out that it’s unfair to expect women to look like models, because female models are required to sacrifice their health. Male models are required to be extraordinarily fit and healthy.
As long as people realise male models have a full-time job with financial support to exercise and eat perfectly all the time to look optimally buff for their photo shoots and that level of aesthetic perfection is unlikely to be attainable with an ordinary livelihood, then aspiring to look relatively more like a male model than a slob Sun reader is not a bad thing.

I LOVE THIS!!! i would love to see more of this esp from users its fun as hell and brings it down to a more realistic sexy, I dunno i think fantasy sexy and male perfection is one type of beauty its wonderful even artistic but then theres the realistic hot, sexy, cute, adorable, sexy, handsome and beautiful that is so much more in demand, why do you think more people are thumbin personal ads sites instead of catalogues? There’s a demand to see men of all sorts in their skibbies and less ;) I think each of these guys is sexy as hell esp #1 & #4 dayumn :D
