Ah, bacne. The dreaded bacne. During the summer months, it’s your worst enemy, but it doesn’t have to be as we transition into fall. Bacne, aka Back + acne, is a common problem in adults, even for those of us who thought we had escaped the grips of our dreaded teenage years, but it’s nothing to be ashamed of. Hitting the beach and spending some time in salt water can do wonders for back acne if you have some last minute beach trips planned. Experts suggest sitting in the sun for 10-15 minutes to help dry out any existing pimples and then submerging your back in salt water for another 10-15 minutes. Repeating this process a few times is said to have visibly proven results. Just be careful not to burn as this will exasperate the problem.

Cotton helps to wick away sweat from your back and loose fitting clothes ensure that your skin is less irritated throughout the day. It may also help to switch your laundry detergent to one that doesn’t have any scent or allergens. All of those things can definitely help alleviate bacne but some people might need to pack their efforts with a little more punch.
